Licence conditions (21)

Conditions carried over from Licensing Act 1964 (Justices 'On' Licence)
1. There shall be no sale of intoxicating liquor within the refectory area at any time when such area shall be functioning as a refectory open to the general public, other than to persons taking bona fide meals there and for consumption by such persons as an ancillary to such meals.
2. Suitable beverages other than intoxicating liquor (including water) shall be equally available for consumption with or otherwise as an ancillary to meal or meals.
3. The sale of alcohol within the refectory area shall be limited to persons attending a bona fide function at the cathedral and abbey church at any time when the refectory area shall not be functioning as a refectory open to the general public.
4. The sale of alcohol within the crypt area shall be limited to persons attending a bona fide function at the cathedral and abbey church
Restriction: Only in respect of the areas marked crypt and refectory marked on the plan
Supply of Alcohol (Tables Outside):- On and Off the premises. Only to persons attending a bona fide function with consumption of a meal.
Additonal steps to promote licensing objectives:
General:-
There will be notices on the outside tables explaing that they may only be occupied by people purchasing food and drink from the refectory.
The Prevention of Crime & Disorder:-
It is an offence: for any person to sell alcohol to under 18's for consumption on or off the premises.
Make sure all staff are fully trained and that they are aware of who not to serve for example - do not serve officers on duty, drunks, prostitiutes, underage and anyone under the influence of drugs
Public Safety:-
Health and Safety assessments are done on a regular basis. All staff are fully trained on the correct procedure regarding the sale of intoxicating drinks.
The tables outside will be monitored by capable members of my staff at all times
The prevention of Public Nuisance:-
We are situated within the Cathedral and there are alot of fully trained staff both within the refectory and the Cathedral who are able to deal woth any problems. We are all aware of problems that can be coursed by drug/alcohol abuse.
Monitor people who we serve. Keep tables clean and tidy and make sure only customers from the refectory are using them
The Protection of Children from Harm:-
All staff subject to disclosure police checks on a regular basis. We have a parish choir, brownies and sparks groups so all my staff are fully trained on the importance of the protection of children.
