Every day 17:00-23:00, other: BOTH. Plays by theatre companies, amateur dramatic, societies etc. Amplified music and sound may be part of the performance and also background interval music. Plays will be held either within the cafe or in the garden weather dependant. Plays will located in the garden to the front of the building during summer months and inside the cafe during winter months.
Live Music
Every day 17:00-23:00, other: BOTH Live amplified and non amplified music to be played during special organised band/classical music music events in the evenings accompanied by refreshments. To be located both internallty and externally within the cafe boundaries. Live performances may also take place as part of a celebration such as weddings and birthdays.
Recorded Music
Every day 09:00-23:00, other: BOTH Soft background music played inside and externally into the garden areas for diners during the day and evenings. Possible DJ amplified music played internally and externally within the cafe boundaries during events such as plays, wedding, birthdays and christenings etc.
Perform Dance
Every day 17:00-23:00, other: BOTH. Dance performances by schools, professionals and non professionals may take place in the cafe garden or internal areas. dance may form part of a play or a community event. Live or recorded music, amplified or unamplified may accompany the dance. Seasonal Variations: During summer months outside events will be more popular weather dependant.
Facilities for dancing
Every day 17:00-23:00, other: Indoors only. Dancing may take place in the function room. The function room floor consists of laminated wood flooring. Dancing may take place in the function room as part of an organised disco for events such as wedding. The function room may also be used to provide a venue for dance classes. The area will be cleared of furniture creating an open space. Recorded music, amplified or unamplified may accompany the dance.

  1. The Inn on the Park Cafe is situtated within Verulamium park a short walk from the small car park off St Michaels Street. The premises are solely occupied.
  2. The building comprises of one single structure with internal seating area for 100 with serving counters located within the same area. An internal function room seating 40 is to the left aspect and external garden directly to the front in view of the serving counters seating 200.
  3. Located on the right aspect of the building is a ice cream serving ice cream, drinks and confectionary, and also toilets, which include baby change and disabled. The kitchen is in the centre of the building and storage with outside gated area for deliveries is to the rear.
  4. Currently the cafe serves food and non-alcoholic beverages during the day within the cafe and garden area and also caters for special events and school lunch parties within the function room. Takeaway service is available for consumption within the park.
  5. It is envisaged that the inn on the park enhances and expands its current offering and begins to open during some evening for themed dining experiences where plays, live music, classical music and other famil themed experiences can be coupled with dining both internally and externally within the cafe's current boundaries.
  6. In addition also catering for selected special events such as babeques, weddings, christenings and birthdays.
  7. Our plan also includes the sale of alcohol to accompany these events in the same manner as previously undertaken for events such as the 'roof top theatre company' performances that have taken place for that past two years and been covered by temporary event licences.
  8. No takeaway service will be available for alcohol to the public.
  9. Adult Entertainment:
  10. No adult themed evetns (i.e. nudity, semi-nudity, films for restricted age groups, gaming machines or gambling) will take place. The Inn on the Park is a family orientated business.
  11. General:
  12. The organisation take's it's responsibility for running licensable activities at the Inn on the Park very seriously.
  13. The primary purpose of the organisation is to provide family orientated entertainment, day and evening dining experiences and a private hire function that will be valued and used by the whole community. The Inn on the Park is recognised in the community for it's exceptional quality and family orientated approach. This reputation will only be enhanced by offering more varied opetions to the public in keeping with our current approach and good observations of the licensing objectives is a key priority.
  14. All team members and staff will receive appropriate training. Re-briefing and appraisals of compliance will be held regularly.
  15. The organisation will ensure adequate numbers of staff are employed as appropriate for the type of event and numbers of people.
  16. Events such as 18 and 21st birthday parties will not catered for.
  17. All complaints from the community will not be dealt with as a matter of priority and the organisation will liaise and take advice from the police and other local authorities on the continuing basis.

  19. The Prevention of Crime and Disorder:
  20. All events will be adequately stewarded appropriate to the type of event and numbers of people.
  21. Staff will be trained to monitor public behvaiour and manage risk. Further alcohol will be politely refused to those who are drunk.
  22. Anti-drugs policy will be enforced. Toilets will be checked on a regular basis.
  23. Glasses and bottles are collected on a regular basis.
  24. Events based activities will be ticketed in advance to alow for an accurate assessment of numbers and maintenance of maximum capacity limits. Sold out events will ve clearly indicated at the premises to avoid unnecessary queuing or waiting.
  25. Events such as 18th and 21st birthday parties will not be provided for to further reduce risk of disorderly conduct.
  26. Disorderly conduct of any kind will not be tolerated on the premises and will be dealt with immediately and considered by trained staff.
  27. Any monies at selling points is securely stored in tills and the main cafe.
  28. There is an alarm system with panic buttons on the premises.
  29. For private hire events, suitable terms and conditions are discussed and documented in advance including of conduct and safety.
  30. Bar staff will be trained to sell only to over 18s. No bar staff under 18 will be employed behind the bar.
  31. Proof of age scheme will be in place whereby anyone appearing to be under 18 will be required to produce suitable photographic ID (passport, driving licence or PASS card). Photocopies will not be accepted.
  32. Anti drink driving material will be displayed as will varied details of available taxi contact numbers.
  33. A wide selection of non-alcoholic beverages are available.
  34. Public Safety:
  35. The premises has in place procedures for exit control, evacuation and accident/incident reporting and recording.
  36. Suitable qualified Emergency First Aider(s) will be attendance depending on nummbers.
  37. Adequate and appropriate supply of first aid equipment and materials is available on the premises.
  38. Risk assessments will be taiored to individual events and any outside contractors will be asked to provide comprehensive risk assessments of their own in addition to the current day to day risk assessments for the Inn on the Park.
  39. Events will comply with current Health and Safety legislation, capacity limits and seating arrangements.
  40. For events a member of the management team will always be on site.
  41. There are appropriate fire extinguishers and fire blankets within the premises and staff are trained in the operation of these. Fire risk assessments and maintenance is carried out on a regular basis.
  42. All members of staff are provided with appropriate training and supervisions to assist in securing customers safety.
  43. Regular inspections are undertaken to check all exit routes are not obstructed, signage is present and correct, smoke detectors are working and emergency lighting is operating correctly.
  44. An outside contractor is used to maintain the extinguishers within the cafe.
  45. The Prevention of Public Nuisance:
  46. The Inn on the Park is located away from residential areas and noise levels will be monitored and controlled to reasonable levels and comply with legislation and environmental Health requirements.
  47. All events will have adequate provision for the disposal of waste and litter. Litter and recycling bins are located within the secure yard of the premises and contracted cleaning services ensure regular collection and recycling takes place.
  48. No bottles or rubbish wil be left in outside bins overnight. A clean down procedure is already in effect to remove all waste to the yard before closing.
  49. Signs will be placed at customer exit points reminding customers to leave quietly.
  50. The Protection of children from harm:
  51. Proof of age scheme in place wjerby anyone appearing to be under 18 will be required to produced suitable photographic ID (passport, driving licence or PASS card). Photocopies will not be accepted.
  52. Apart from alcohol, no age restricted goods such as videos, DVD's, tobacco, knives or solvents will be sold on the premises.
  53. Alcohol will not be advetised or sold in a manner that promotes or appeals to young people.
  54. Entertainment aimed at children will be adequately stewarded and supervised by suitable adults to ensure welfare and safety. Any staff on the premises and specific access to children through their emloyment will be CRB checked.
  55. Any children's entetainers employed on the premises will be required to produce recent Criminal Records Bureau checks.
  56. No adult entertainment will be provided on the premises.
  57. Conditions agreed with the Police:
  58. Clear and visible signs inside the premises informing that no alcohol is to be removed or consumed outside the garden area.
  59. When alcohol is being sold (or supplied) - Clear and visible signs at all entrances / exits of garden area informing customers that no alcohol is to be removed from the area.
  60. Environment and Health conditions agreed:
  61. 1. The license holder or anyone involved in the organisation of entertainment (including those controlling the volume of music) shall ensure that any noise emanating form the premises is such as not to cause annoyance or disturbance to residents in the locality.
  62. 2. Install and maintain a noise limiting device, to a specification agreed with the Environmental Health Department. The permissible noise level will be agreed whereby a noise level of 55dB LAeq during the daytime and 45dB LAeq (from 21:00hrs onwards) during the night time is not exceeded a metre from the façade of noise sensitive premises
