General
To promote the four licensing objectives together, we will ensure that we have strong management controls in place and
comprehensive training given to all members of staff in relation to the the premises licence and the requirements to meet
the four licensing objectives.
Particular emphasis will be placed on; the prevention of alcohol sales to underage people, the prevention of drunk and
disorderly behavior in and near the premises, vigilance in preventing the use and sale of illegal drugs at the retail area,
identification and prevention of violent and anti-social behaviour and ensuring that there are procedures and rules in place that prevents any harm to children .
The Prevention of Crime and Disorder
We will fully train staff on identifying and dealing with any anti-social behaviour.
We will have a strict policy of not serving patrons who are drunk / intoxicated.
We will also have a fitted alarm system and plan to install CCTV to monitor entrances, exits and other parts of the premises in order to prevent crime.
We will attend the local Pubwatch meetings so that we are aware of, and can refuse entry to any individuals who have been identified and barred from other venues in the town.
Staff and management will be vigilant in the prevention of illegal drug use on or near the premises.
Public Safety
Internal and external lighting will be fitted to the premises
Staff will be fully trained in health and safety procedures and environmental health requirements
Staff will be fully trained in carrying out underage ID checks and will be trained to follow the 'Challenge 25' guidelines
A structural surveyor is assessing the property prior to opening to identify any structural or material issues. Any problems
identified will be rectified prior to opening to the public.
All fixtures and fittings will be maintained to a good, safe standard at all times to ensure the safety of the public.
The Prevention of Public Nuisance
Recorded music will be played at low volumes to prevent any public nuisance.
Clear signs will be placed at the exits of the premises that request patrons to respect neighbours and nearby residents by
leaving quietly. Customers will be asked not to stand around making noise in the vicinity of the premises.
Deliveries of goods necessary for the business will be done away from the main road and out of the way of the public so as not to cause problems. There is separate delivery access to ensure this objective is met.
Customers will not be permitted to enter the premises outside of the opening hours.
Any movement of bins after 11pm will be kept to a minimum. If necessary, it will be done quickly and quietly.
Any lighting either inside or outside the building will be shielded so as not to cause a nuisance to any nearby residents.
The Protection of Children from Harm
There will be a 'Challenge 25' sign prominently displayed on the premises. This will notify any potential customers that we
will be asking for acceptable ID to be produced for anyone who appears to be under age 25 (acceptable ID includes a card bearing the PASS hologram, a photographic driving license or a passport) if they wish to buy alcohol.
Staff will be fully trained on the 'Challenge 25' strategy and the recognition of valid and acceptable ID.
Children and under 18s will not be permitted on the premises after 19.00.
