EC0602 - Permitted Hours - restaurant & residential (from original Justices Licence)
Alcohol may be sold or supplied:
(a) On the following weekdays, namely Monday to Saturday, other than Christmas Day, or Good Friday, or New Years Eve from 10 a.m. to midnight,
(b) On Sundays, other than Christmas Day or New Years Eve, and on Good Friday: 12 noon to 11:30 p.m.
(c) On Christmas Day: 12 noon to 11:30 p.m.;
(d) On New Year's Eve except on a Sunday, 11.00 a.m. to midnight
(e) On New Years Eve on a Sunday, 12 noon to 11.30 p.m.
(f) On New Years Eve from the end of the permitted hours on New Year's Eve to the start of permitted hours on the following day (or, if there are no permitted hours on the following day, until midnight on 31 December).
The above restrictions do not prohibit:
(a) during the first twenty minutes after the above hours the consumption of the alcohol on the premises;
(b) during the first twenty minutes after the above hours, the taking of the alcohol from the premises unless the alcohol is supplied or taken in an open vessel;
(c) during the first thirty minutes after the above hours the consumption of the alcohol on the premises by persons taking meals
there if the alcohol was supplied for consumption as ancillary to the meals;
(d) consumption of the alcohol on the premises or the taking of sale or supply of alcohol to any person residing in the premises.
Suitable non-alcoholic beverages, including drinking water, shall be equally available for consumption with or otherwise as an ancillary to meals served in the licensed premises.
The premises must be bona fide used for the purpose of habitually providing the customary main meal at midday or in the evening, or both, for the accommodation of persons frequenting the premises
Late Night Refreshment
The sale of hot food and drink is permitted until 30 minutes after the end of permitted hours.
Recorded Music
Public entertainment by the way of music and singing which is provided solely by the reproduction of recorded sound is permitted without any hours limitation.
Private Entertainment
Dancing, music or other entertainment of the like kind which is not a public entertainment but which is promoted for private gain is permitted without any hours limitation.
Protection of Children
If more than one hundred persons under 14 (?juniors?) are attending an entertainment for juniors or an entertainment at which the majority of those attending are juniors, there shall be sufficient adult attendants, properly instructed as to their duties:
(a) to prevent more juniors or other persons being admitted to the building or part thereof than the building or part can properly accommodate; and
(b) to control the movement of juniors and other persons admitted while entering and leaving the building or part; and
to take all reasonable precautions for the safety of the children
No person under the age of 17 years shall take part in any performance in which his life or limbs are endangered.
