Licence conditions (21)

CCTV system installed and in operation 7 days a week covering the internal public area of the licensed bar, to record and retain images for 28 days. Images must be supplied to any responsible authority officer on request i.e. police, fire service or local authority officer.
A Challenge 25 policy will be in place and signs displayed around the premises to inform customers, staff will be trained in order to conduct challenges at the bar.
The placing of bottles into receptacles outside the premises is not permitted to take place after/between the hours of 2000 and 0800 to minimise disturbance to nearby properties.
All exits and escape routes to those exits (including external escape routes) from the premises shall be provided with non-slip even surfaces and shall be maintained in good repair, correct working order and kept free from all obstructions when the public are on the premises. External escape routes shall also be kept free from ice and snow.
There shall be maintained on the premises at all times an adequate and appropriate supply of first aid equipment and materials.
The premises shall be provided with adequate lavatory accommodation which shall at all times when the premises are in use be kept clean, ventilated, disinfected and supplied with hot and cold water, soap, toilet tissue, hand drying and sanitary towel disposal facilities as appropriate.
The electrical installation shall be inspected and tested at intervals specified by a competent person. A satisfactory and valid inspection report shall be available on site for inspection by an officer of the authority.
Each socket outlet circuit or individual socket outlets used for regulated entertainment shall be protected by an integral residual current device (RCD) having a rated residual operating current not exceeding 30mA (0.03 amps). Every such circuit and residual current device shall be inspected and tested at intervals specified by a competent person. A satisfactory and valid inspection report shall be available on site for inspection by an authorised officer of the authority.
Alcohol will be served before and during intervals in performances.
The majority of productions take place in the evening between 7pm and 10.30pm. There are, however, odd occasions when performances and activities take place during the day, hence the operating schedule shows the commencement hour of 08:00.
The seating capacity of the Theatre Royal is 149 persons.
Following its reopening in March 2016, the Theatre Royal will rent part of the backstage area to a local music charity which will provide facilities for local people (in particular persons under 20) to make music in a sound-proof recording studio.
Consumption of alcohol on the Theatre Royal premises generally takes place during comparatively short periods (before and during intervals of performances).
Audiences generally leave the building between 22:00 and 22:30 hours after evening performances.
A Theatre Manager is in attendance on the premises during performances to oversee audience members arriving and leaving.
There are fire extinguishers located on the premises.
In addition to the main entrance to the Theatre Royal, there are fire exits from the circle and the stalls areas, which lead into a lane at the side of the Theatre Royal, leading to Wilson Street.
The sale and consumption of alcohol at the Theatre Royal is ancillary to the main activity of the Workington Playgoers, namely mounting plays and similar regulated entertainment.
The club has no knowledge of neighbouring properties complaining about the activities which take place at the Theatre Royal.
The new recording studio at the rear of the theatre is sound -proofed.
There is a Child Protection Officer and a Child Protection Policy in place.
