- General - all four licensing objectives
- Regular training updates will be provided to ensure staff remain up to date on legislative requirements as necessary.
- We already have CCTV in the stairway of John Peel House, which is monitored by our other licensed premise on site and we will install further coverage for the cinema too.
- The Ritz will be operated as a three-screen cinema venue in line with the BBFC film classifications. A small seating area by the kiosk will be provided as well as a range of soft drinks, hot drinks, popcorn and other snack items as well as a limited range of alcoholic drinks for consumption on the premises.
- An experienced personal licence holder will be appointed as DPS and written authorisation will be issued to members of the staff who are trained to sell alcohol whilst the DPS is not physically on site.
- Challenge 25 policy in relation to the sale of alcohol and maintain age verification records/incidents logs to be reviewed by management and made available for audit upon request.
- Films with BBFC classification will be shown and age verification will be strictly applied at the cinema.
- Advance ticket sales will be an option available for customers to minimise queuing at the site.
- Disability access will be provided throughout the premises with access from all levels of John Peel House via one of two lifts. Emergency Refuge Points will be created to ensure the safe evacuation in an emergency situation.
- Opening times will be arranged to ensure that the premises are clear of the public before midnight to avoid any late-night drinkers who may be in the town centre area.
- There will be 169 seats available at the site. The Prevention of Crime and Disorder
- CCTV monitoring system will be installed to monitor all vulnerable areas including but not limited to: stairway entrances, tickets/kiosk area and emergency exit area. Images will be recorded on a hard drive and will be retained in an unedited format for a period of 14 days.
- Only staff with written authority from the DPS will sell alcohol. A Challenge 25 policy will be adopted with records maintained of proof of age requests.
- Subscribe to the local link radio network, so that we are made aware of reports of incidents/issues in the area.
- Challenge 25 posters will be clearly displayed.

- Advance ticket sales will be available and a queuing system will be in place in times of high volumes of customers.
- Plastic bottles and containers will be used for the consumption of drinks within the cinema auditoriums.
- An annual Fire Risk Assessment (FRA) and Health & Safet y Audit will be carried out.
- All public access areas will be inspected on a regular basis to ensure they remain free from obsruction. CCTV will also be located to enable frequent checks.
- Daily checks to be employed including a check that all escape routes are open and free from obstruction prior to allowing access to the public.
- A log of maintenance issues will be maintained which will be available for inspection.
- Staffing levels will be sufficient to ensure that we comply with our licensing requirements.
- Nominated first aider and a fully stocked first aid kit located on site.
- British standard lighting requirements applied and regular checks will be recorded.
- Emergency lighting and fire safety equipment will be in place and checked in line with the requirements of the annual FRA. Staff fully trained in the use of the equipment and the procedures in case of an emergency.
- All emergency exits will be clearly signed with refuge areas nominated and clearly identifiable. Lifts will not be available in an emergency evacuation situation. The Prevention of Public Nuisance
- Clear signage displayed advising customers to considerate of neighbours when leaving the premises. Available exits beside the Wilko store on Ladies Walk which is directed away from local residences and the lower level beside the underpass leading directly to car park area. Exit closest to local residences to be used in an emergency only.
- The premises will close before midnight.
- Alcohol sales for consumption on the premises only. The Protection of Children from Harm
- BBFC Film Classification will be observed and children will only be admitted to films classified as suitable for their age.
- No child apparently under the age of 5 years will be admitted unless accompanied by a person who appears to be 16 years or over.
- Staff trained to verfify the age of customers and records will be maintained which will be made available for inspection.
- Challenge 25 applied for age verfication purposes in the sale of alcohol which is for consumption on the premises only. Records maintained and made available upon request.
- The stairway to the cinema is monitored by CCTV coverage by our other licensed premises at John Peel House and a radio link will be set up between the two sites to ensure that the area is managed and kept clear at all times.
