Licence conditions (24)

No person under fourteen shall be in the bar of the licensed premises during the permitted hours unless one of the following applies:
(1) He is the child of the holder of the premises licence.
(2) He resides in the premises, but is not employed there.
(3) He is in the bar solely for the purpose of passing to or from some part of the premises which is not a bar and to or from which there is no other convenient means of access or egress.
(4) The bar is in railway refreshment rooms or other premises constructed, fitted and intended to be used bona fide for any purpose to which the holding of the licence is ancillary. In this condition "bar" includes any place exclusively or mainly used for the consumption of intoxicating liquor. But an area is not a bar when it is usual for it to be, and it is, set apart for the service of table meals and alcohol is only sold or supplied to persons as an ancillary to their table meals. Private Entertainment Dancing, music or other entertainment of the like kind which is not a public entertainment but which is promoted for private gain is permitted without any hour's limitation. Protection of Children If more than one hundred persons under 14 ("juniors") are attending an entertainment for juniors or an entertainment at which the majority of those attending are juniors, there shall be sufficient adult attendants, properly instructed as to their duties: (a) to prevent more juniors or other persons being admitted to the building or part thereof than the building or part can properly accommodate; and (b) to control the movement of juniors and other persons admitted while entering and leaving the building or part; and to take all reasonable precautions for the safety of the children. No person under the age of 17 years shall take part in any performance in which his life or limbs are endangered. Annex 6 - Public Entertainment Special Conditions for Studio 2 The following additional conditions shall apply to the attached licence; the area to which the Licence shall apply is shown on the attached plan.
Those conditions set out in the current Fire Certificate as issued by the Kent Fire Brigade (as amended from time to time).
Persons attending any function in Studio Two shall be restricted to the Studio, access and escape routes and toilet areas. They shall not be permitted beyond the licensed area.
A maximum number of 360 persons in the audience and 40 staff/performers shall be permitted in Studio Two at any one time.
The maximum number may be increased subject to full compliance with the following in addition to the above mentioned conditions. (As required by the Kent Fire Brigade and set out in their report dated 7 January 1987).
4.1 Audience accommodation is to be set strictly in accordance with the 'Retractable seating' equipment and layouts detailed in the attached appendices. Any one of the three configurations is acceptable.
4.2 The total seating capacity of the audience shall be restricted to maximum of 360 persons. In addition a maximum of 40 staff and/or performers shall be in the studio at any one time (i.e. studio maximum capacity of 400 persons).
4.3 Access step units shall be provided to the seating blocks on the basis of:-
One step unit to each single or double block.
Two step units to each combination of 3 or 4 blocks, one step unit at each end of the block.
4.4 A suitable approved staircase, at least 1 metre in clear width shall be provided at the rear of any combination of blocks on the basis of:-
One staircase to each combination of 2 or 3 blocks
Two staircases for each combination of 4 blocks
4.5 A clear gangway shall be formed and maintained along the rear of the multiple seating blocks to afford access to the rear staircase(s).
4.6 A clear gangway, at least 1 metre in clear width, shall be provided between any adjacent individual blocks or combinations of blocks, and between any blocks and surrounding blocks and surrounding struc
Extra security staff, audience handlers and first aiders shall be provided for performance days where the audience exceeds 400 people.
For all events which will result in audience numbers exceeding 400 persons, liaison with the Local Fire Authority, Local Police Authority and Licensing Authority shall take place and include reference to the ratio of staff to audience required.
No persons under the age of 16 years shall be allowed on the premises unless by prior agreement and in the company of licensed chaperones
Trained Fire Wardens will be in place to open the two main shutter doors in Studio 5 in the event of an evacuation.
Adequate security or stewards will be in place to safely evacuate the public in the event of an emergency.
