  2. Skiddaw House is a membership (YHA) association - all guests sign in with names and addresses and ID is verified, details recorded if not members.
  3. Particular notice of amounts of alcohol purchased or consumed as staff always on site/around.
  4. Fully compliant with YHA requirements.
  5. All these are recorded and logged systematically:- (a) Health and Safety. (b) Fire procedure. (c) Smoke and co detection system. (d) Child protection etc.
  6. Only building in the valley. No neighbours.
  7. Guests stay in the hostel for the night.
  8. Staff (and occasional volunteers) are informed and inducted to all procedures.
  9. Staff either on duty or on call 24/7 on site.
  10. Members/affiliates of the Youth Hostel Association, a registered charity.
  11. A comprehensive Child Protection policy exists and is used in all YHA premises.
  12. Training, guidance, paperwork certified.
