Being a School, we have in place Health and Safety policies which are reviewed annually and updated as and when the law requires: this also takes into account fire safety regulations and there is a fire risk assessment policy in place. The school is aware of the need to protect children in its care
The prevention of crime and disorder
Any events held by the Schools at Somerhill are by invitation only and not open to the public. The school employs both teaching staff and non-teaching staff who are at events to make sure that no criminal activity or disorder occurs. This is a Junior School with children up to the age of 13 on site. The school has limited CCTV system monitoring outside areas.
Public Safety
The Schools at Somerhill have a Health and Safety policy in place which is updated on the changes in law and reviewed annually by an independent firm. The School has a fire system which is directly linked via redcare to the local fire station for immediate response. The School has car park attendants and traffic directors for all large events.
