As set out in more detail in sections b), c), d) & e) below the premises are subject to annual inspection by the University's Health and Safety Officers and representatives of the Borough Council. The University's Estates Section undertakes responsibility for all inspections of electrical installations 'IEE test', fire and safety equipment, emergency lighting and ceiling, with supply of certification as required.There is also twice yearly inspection of maintenance of safe working loads on suspension fittings. Occasional visits by the fire brigade out of hours and during performance.At all times during performance within the stage risk area there is present a competent person conversant with electrical installation and fire fighting equipment and procedure.All users/hirers/performers etc are given a comprehensive safety briefing on emergency procedures and safe use of the premises and facilities.Visiting amateur companies' technical department heads sign relevant declaration that they have read and understood and will comply with safety and emergency requirements pertaining to their own departments/activities.Front of House - during performances minimum of one duty member per 100 members of the audience in the auditorium with one member of Front of House staff present within foyer area.Parking is available on campus with footpaths well lit, there is a CCTV camera located adjacent to entrance to the Lakeside Theatre linked directly to the University's information desk which is staffed by University Patrol Officers 24 hours a day.The Information Desk/Patrol Office is also accessible via internal telephones from theatre foyer and backstage area, within the University Patrol Officer Staff on duty there is always a trained first-aider on duty.Special effects used in productions that might cause alarm or be detrimental to certain health conditions (i.e. stroboscopic lighting) will be advised by use of notices displayed in the theatre foyer.The DPS, and Fully trained, quali

No statutory notices have ever been served.There is ample adjacent University parking facilities with well lit footpaths to access it.The premises/venues are situated in the heart of the University campus, at basement and lower basement levels. The nearest neighbourhood accommodation are our own University Halls of residence, flats and houses. Noise generated on the premises shall be kept at such a level at the boundary of the venues/premises that it shall not cause a nuisance to our own members/students residing nearby Univeristy Halls, houseing and other accommodation.Other Residences and a general public nuisance The Licensee shall take all appropiate steps to prevent the neighbourhood being unreasonably disturbed bu noise made by persons waiting to enter and when leaving the premises. Entry to and Exit from the premises shall be controlled and monitored at all times.Access to appropiate means of transport, such as the provision of telephone numbers for licensed hackney carriages, 'Student Safety' mini-buses, shall be made available to those using the premises as to allow safe and appropiate means of leaving the premises and the general area with the opportunity for disturbance and noise being greatly reduced by the aforementioned,.
There are no gaming machines or cigarette machines on the premises.No alcohol shall be supplied to those under the age of 18 at any time. As our students are 18 years old at the time of arrival to the University, we are well placed to meet this objective. All our students are issued with 'Univeristy Registration Cards' and these cards are the main form of ID we accept as proof of age, ID and status upon entry. The Designated Premises Supervisor will ensure that people are in place to supervise the bar and understand the conditions of the Licence. Either the DPS or a person appointed by the DPS will be present whenever the sale of alcohol is being permitted under the terms of the Operating Schedule or Premises Licence.When the sale of alcohol is being permitted under the terms of the Operating Schedule or Premises Licence, signage will be made available to indicate that it is the right of the Bar Staff to insist on identification and to refuse sales of alcohol to underage persons, persons considered drunk or persons that are purchasing alcohol for another person considered to be drunk.
