- We keep an up-to-date file on procedures and good practice for example for “Front of House” management, the use of safety announcements and the pat testing of equipment.
- At least two members of the Wigton Theatre club are on duty in the auditorium during each performance to keep a watchful eye and ready to eject anyone who is deemed to be drunk or disorderly.
- The building is locked when not occupied.
- Our Health and Safety Policy is regularly reviewed and updated.
- Front of House Staff are regularly updated on Fire Safety.
- We make public safety announcements at the start of each performance and emergency exits are clearly illuminated throughout the shows.
- Doors from the foyer to the auditorium are soundproof and are kept closed during a performance as are outside doors, preventing noise penetrating into the street.
- Front of House staff reinforce the message for the audience to leave the site in an orderly and quiet manner.
- We have both a Child Protection Policy and a Safeguarding policy which we strictly adhere to.
- All children and vulnerable adults are given an induction on their first visit and reminded on follow up visits. We are to introduce the same procedure to all members in 2021.
- As per our policy we employ qualified matrons whenever children are in a production.
Licensed hours are the most a premises may open or trade under its licence, not its actual opening times.
