Licence conditions (19)

PPN It should be noted that these conditions are applicable to the main building ONLY.. PPN3a Where regulated entertainment is provided by way of an in house PA system, management shall control such equipment to ensure nuisance is not caused. PPN4 All external doors and windows shall be kept closed when regulated entertainment is being provided except in the event of an emergency. PPN6 The licence holder or his representative shall conduct regular assessments of the noise coming from the premises on every occasion the premises are used for regulated entertainment and shall take steps to reduce the level of noise where it is likely to cause a disturbance to local residents. A written record shall be made of those assessments in a log book kept for that purpose and shall include the time and date of the checks, the person making them and the results including any remedial action. PPN9 There shall be placed at all exits from the premises in a place where they can be seen and easily read by the public notices pointing out the needs of local residents and the need to leave the premises and the area quietly. (Note: this may also include reference to vehicles.) PPN10 No explosive, firework or pyrotechnic shall be discharged in or from the premises which may cause a disturbance to the local area. Notice of a proposed event shall be served on the Council, the Chief Fire Officer, the Environmental Health Officer and the Chief Police Officer, not less than 28 days before the proposed date of any such event. Any such event shall be conducted in accordance with conditions or restrictions required by the Chief Fire Officer, the Environmental Health Officer and the Chief Police Officer. PPN 15 The playing of live or recorded music in garden areas and other external spaces of the premises is not permitted. The premises complies fully with building regs, re. safety matters e.g. use of toughened safety glass to all lower windows.
Inspection of all electrical/gas appliances and systems as well as maintenance is undertaken by qualified persons.
Fire and security systems are maintained under an annual contract by registered contractors.
Posters will be strategically placed indicating club policy on: no alcohol sales to under 18s & where doubts are raised identity will be required, anti-drugs policy & alcohol will not be sold to persons who appear to be drunk.
All bar staff given training in dealing with drunken persons.
We will become a member of the Cockermouth nightsafe/pubwatch.
Where necessary we will employ SIA trained door supervision.
The premises are fitted with a fire detection system linked directly to the fire service.
There is emergency lighting fitted over emergency exits.
Fire extinguishers throughout the building covered by a maintenance contract.
Exterior lighting fitted to the main exits & approach road.
Because the premises are situated on the outskirts of Cockermouth the vast majority of people arrive by car.
Our aim will be to ensure users egress & exit the premises in a controlled manner by putting a 10 mile per hour speed restriction in place.
We will ensure the premises are vacated in an orderly manner at closing time & to assist in moving people away we will ensure there are an adequate number of local taxi numbers displayed.
All activities comply with RFU policies regarding child welfare and protection.
A child protection policy is in place and issued to all premises personnel and volunteers involved with children and young persons.
The premises supervisor, as well as all personnel involved with young people must undergo an enhanced CRB check for their suitability to work with young people.
A child welfare officer has a position on the management committee and receives regular training in child welfare matters.
