Any committee member is permitted to use the club telephone to contact the Police immediately in the event of any disorder. Committee members shall actively cooperate and inform other alcohol premises in the vicinity should there be any disorder or incidents associated with alcohol consumption which may impact other premises in the locality.
CCTV shall be installed both behind the Bar and at the main entrance with signage clearly identifying that a CCTV system is in operation. The CCTV system shall be maintained and kept in good working order in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions. All controls and workings of the CCTV system shall be located under the Bar to prevent unauthorised tampering or misuse.
The Capacity of the Workington Veteran’s Club is 85 persons. The committee shall not allow any exceedance in these numbers.
A notice board at the entrance of the Club shall clearly display the trading hours under the premises licence, the licensable activities permitted on the premises and the maximum occupancy level for the premises.
A regular attending committee member shall always be on the premises during trading, hours, who shall be responsible for calling the fire service and advising them of the location of any fire. All committee members shall be trained to an appropriate level to understand and follow the emergency procedure in the event of a fire, to test the fire alarm system and shall maintain a log of the dates that the system is tested and any associated defects. Fire extinguishers shall be kept throughout the premises and shall be regularly inspected by a professionally approved contractor.
Emergency lighting shall be installed throughout the building to illuminate exits and stairwells. All emergency light fittings shall be maintained and tested with a record of the test dates logged in the Fire Safety Folder. The controls for the emergency lighting system are installed in the cellar to prevent unauthorised or accidental use during the premises’ operating hours.
Separate male and female lavatories shall both be cleaned daily. They shall be well ventilated, regularly disinfected and a supply of hand soap, toilet tissue and hand drying facilities shall be maintained.
The club shall follow a strict cleaning routine with a commitment to good hygiene. All waste bins shall be regularly emptied and toilets and surfaces disinfected at the end of every working shift.
A First Aid Box shall be in view of all members, on a wall next to the Bar area. It shall contain all associated equipment and materials and be regularly restocked and maintained.
The Club shall ensure that the disposal of refuse bottles does not cause a disturbance to local residents.
Waste from the premises shall always be removed and disposed of correctly.
The yard, passageway and frontage of the building shall be regularly disinfected and cleaned with the removal of all cigarette butts.
No person under the age of 18 years shall be permitted on the premises when used for the purposes of supplying alcohol after the hours of 2000.
All children under the age of 18 years, must be accompanied by an adult before 2000 hours.
All committee members shall adhere to the “Challenge 21” campaign, which shall be the scheme that all committee members use to challenge possible underage drinking and request production of the appropriate proof of age documentation, namely, a recognised proof of age card accredited under the Proof of Age Standards Scheme (PASS) (photo driving licence/passport/HM Forces Card or EU ID Card bearing a photo and date of birth).
