The types of regulated entertainments proposed re-instate and then enhance the normal pub entertainment that were previously unregulated, with the benefit to enhance the local facilities for social entertainment and reduce the focus on alcohol. No new steps have been identified by risk assessment in relation to the four licensing objectives, except as below. I have considered the terms of your local licensing policy in preparing this application.
Providing a 30 minute `wind down` period after the end of the sale of alcohol will promote this objective as the last drink will be consumed less quickly with access to the pubs toilet facilities and the provision of non-alcoholic refreshment during this period. All staff will recieved drugs awareness training as part of their induction.
My risk assessment identifies no regular risk of crowding, however, management and staff will use their experience to monitor the number of customers on the premises and prevent further entrance if necessary. Notices advising customers that smoking is permitted in certain areas only have been placed at each entrance. Fire fighting equipment (extinguishers and fire blanket) and emergency lighting are installed and maintained under contract.
Notices reminding departing customers to respect our neighbours and leave the premises quietly will be affixed adjacent to each exit. The restaurant areas, which is used for entertainment events, is doouble galzed and doors and windows will not be held open during such events. The maximum volume will be agreed with performers in advance at all entertainment events. Live acoustic and amplified music will cease by 0.00 (01.00 on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve). All outside drinking areas will be cleared by 23.00 on any day.
The restrictions set out in the Licensing Act 2003 will apply. No unusual risks of harm to children have been identified. All staff will be briefed on acceptable proof of age and action to take if they suspect its validity.
The outside drinking area must not be used by customers after 23.00.
All windows and doors to the restaurant area must be kept closed other than for access and egress whilst events involving amplified sound are taking place.
Prominent and clear notices will be displayed at all exits requesting the public to respect the needs of local residents and to leave the premises and the area quietly.
