Alcoholic drinks will be sold before events, but not available to purchase once an event has begun.
All staff will be trained to ask for ID from anyone appearing to be under the age of 25, and to monitor customers alcohol intake.
The prevention of crime and disorder
Alcohol will only be sold for consumption inside the premises.
Alcohol promotions will only be notified to customers signed up to the bookshop mailing list and regular customers in the bookshop.
No-one who is already under the influence of alcohol will be allowed on the premises when alcohol is being served.
In the event of any difficulties, staff will be trained and/or instructed to call the Police.
Outside of any events, alcohol will be securely stored in a back room area accessible only by staff.
Public safety
Staff will be on hand to quickly clear any glass breakage.
The protection of children from harm
Any events undertaken outside of normal shop opening hours are for over 18's only.
No unaccompanied children will be allowed to attend any events or enter the premises during times when alcohol is for sale outside of normal trading hours.
A Challenge 25 Policy will be in place whereby staff will ask anyone who looks 25 years old or younger for ID to prove they are 18 years old or over.
