Staff will be trained on the requirements of the licensing act 2003 when they are recruited and given training in "drugs awareness" as part of their induction.
A 30-minute extension of opening hours after the end of the sale of alcohol will be provided, with access to the pub toilet facilities and the provision of non-alcoholic refreshment during this period.
No drinks will be dispensed in glass bottles, apart from wine and water, on a Friday and Saturday night after 20:00 hours.
Staff will be trained on how to handle incidents in relation to informing the police and seeking their assistance.
Entry will be refused for persons who appear to be drunk or of a violent disposition.
The D.P.S will be a member of the Havant Pubwatch so long as it exists.
Function bookings shall be limited to 180 persons.
The capacity of the whole premises is not to exceed 200 (including staff and performers).
All staff are to be appraised of the fire drill and the procedure for notifying the fire service in case of fire.
Live music will end no later than 00:00 hours, except on Bank Holiday weekends, New Years Eve and New Years Day.
Live music will be staged only in the lounge bar area.
A notice will be placed prominently at the exits asking all customers to leave quietly.
The restrictions set out in the Licensing Act 2003 will apply.
Photographic proof of age will be required to be shown by anyone seeking to purchase alcohol who appears to be under 21 years of age.
AWP machines and cigarette machines are to be sited in areas that are visible to staff, to ensure that children do not have access to them.
Procedures to be taken prior to the indoor event
Put notices up inside the pub to enable the customers and outside the pub to enable local residents to be aware of forthcoming attractions, prior to the event informing the customers what source of noise it will entail, i.e. disco, karaoke, soloist - duration of event and date of when it will happen.
Brief staff regarding the potential for noise nuisance at the above event and how to deal with phone calls and face to face consultations.
Review each event and then, if appropriate, advise Environmental Health (Noise Pollution) Department of the nature and timescale of the proposed event.
Procedures to be taken during the indoor event
We will ensure that all external doors and windows are kept closed other than for access and egress in all rooms when events for noise amplification are taking place.
Noise from music and voices emanating from the premises between 2300 and 0900 hours will be inaudible at the boundary of the pub premises. Staff will ensure this is complied with by regular boundary checks during the event.
No live music or amplified music shall be relayed via external speakers after 2300 hours, other than for events with the prior approval of the Licensing Authority. During the last hour of the performance the music will be turned down and the mood toned down to a more relaxed tempo.
The position of the live entertainment will be consistent with the Licensing Premises plan, which has been lodged with the Licensing Authority.
Procedures to be taken after the indoor event
We will ensure that the amplified music ends prior to the end of alcohol sales, in order for us to manage the exit of the customers from the premises in a controlled and dignified manner, thus minimising the potential noise nuisance to Surrounding residents.
Local taxi firms to be briefed that drivers should come to the door of the premises to collect their passengers, rather than waiting outside sounding their horns.
Disposal of waste bottles into external receptacles where the noise will be audible to neighbouring properties must not occur between 2230 and 0730 hours.
Staff must be given training to prevent them causing unnecessary noise when they leave the premises and prominent, clear notices displayed at all points where staff leave the building, must instruct them to respect the needs of local residents and leave the premises and area quietly.
Hold a review with staff and key customers to capture any observations and complaints, if any, in order to refine procedures for the future.
For any external events the following shall apply:- All of the above Will advise Environmental Health of the time, date and nature of the event.
We will put a leaflet through the doors of all the houses in the surrounding perimeter of the pub.
We will instruct the live act of the sensitive nature of the occasion and will use our judgement when selecting artists so that they comply in a sympathetic way to the event and the surroundings of where we are asking them to play.
Music in the garden will end at 2200 hours as per the premises licence application.
