Licence conditions (14)

PS1 - Gas Testing Any gas boiler, calorifier or other gas appliances will be tested at least every 12 months by CORGI authorised workmen and subsequent satisfactory and valid inspection report to be available on site for inspection by an authorised officer of the authority. PS2 - Electrical Installation Testing The electrical installation shall be inspected and tested at intervals specified by a competent person. A satisfactory and valid inspection report shall be available on site for inspection by an officer of the authority. PS5 - Licensee Safety Inspection Before the premises are opened for the purposes authorised by the licence an inspection shall be carried out by the licence holder to ensure that the premises are safe for use. PS6 - First Aid There shall be maintained on the premises at all times an adequate and appropriate supply of first aid equipment and materials for the use of customers. PPN23 No refuse shall be disposed of from the premises into a receptacle where such disposal is likely to cause a disturbance to residents in the area of the premises at any time between 8.00 pm and 8.00 am on any day except Sunday when no such disposal shall take place before 10.00 am.
The premises function as a venue for Masonic activities.
The Masonic movement endorses all the licensing objectives and members are required to abide by all aspects of the law.
Any member indulging in criminal activity would be expelled and it is most unlikely that any undesirable person would be proposed for membership. If this were to happen the selection process would be a further barrier.
Any use of the premises for a private function would only be available for an acceptable use by an acceptable person.
The Masonic movement is self regulating and any criminal activity or disorder would not be tolerated. It just does not and has never occurred on the premises.
The safety of all users of the premises is of prime concern of the Club management committee and the Trustees of the building.
There is a current Electrical Safety certificate in place.
There is a long standing contract with “Gasforce” for the annual maintenance and Safety certification of the gas appliances on the premises.
The fire safety equipment is maintained on an annual basis by a suitably accredited company.
The Environmental Health Department of Allerdale Borough Council inspect and regulate the premises.
Members are mindful of the needs of residents in the neighbourhood and a notice is prominently displayed at the exit from the premises requesting that persons leaving ensure that they cause no disturbance to any residents in the area.
There are no children admitted to Masonic meetings.
If a private function were to be held there would be responsible adults present to ensure that any children present came to no harm.
