The premises shall operate in accordance with the "Challenge 21" scheme. Whilst alcohol may be sold to persons aged 18 years or over, any person who appears under 21 years of age shall be required to provide proof of age using an acceptable form of ID. This shall also include customers collecting pre paid goods at the Premises or excepting delivery at their home or business address. All tills shall be prompted with an onscreen ?pop up? challenge for age verification.
Notices advertising that the premises operate a "Challenge 21" scheme shall be displayed in a clear and prominent position at the premises.
The only acceptable forms of ID that may be accepted in respect of the sale of alcohol shall be a: a. passport; b. UK photo driving licence; or c. card bearing a PASS hologram logo
A record shall be kept in which the date and time of any challenge made in accordance with the Challenge 21 scheme shall be recorded. These records shall be made available for inspection by any police, community support or authorised Council officers upon demand. This would also include deliveries to residential and business addresses.
All staff shall receive regular training on induction and at least twice a year on the prevention of underage sales. Such training shall be recorded in English and these records shall, on request, be made available to the Police community support or authorised Council officers upon demand.
The multiple camera CCTV system serving the premises shall: a) be regularly maintained fully operational and in good working order at all times; b) show an accurate date and time that the images were made.. c) All images shall be retained for a period of not less than 14 days and the original CCTV images, or a copy , shall be provided upon demand to any police officer, community support officer or authorised person. d) The original, or a copy, of CCTV images shall be provided in a format that can be viewed on readily available equipment without the need for specialist software.
Unsupervised young children shall not be permitted at the premises and safety signage shall be placed at the entrance advising visitors of this. As a guide this would be children under the age of twelve.
