For student productions there will be a high staff presence of both teachers and support staff. For external theatre companies they will be thoroughly checked to ensure they are fit to run the production, including responsible persons, public liability insurance and adequate first aid cover. Colchester Academy staff will be present during any public hire to manage the facilities and ensure emergency cover.,.
The audiences are unlikely to cause crime and disorder, however Colchester Academy staff will be present at all times to mangage any disorder that arises.,.
First aiders will be available and appropriate to the numbers present. An automatic fire alarm system is present. The fire exits are deemed satisfactory from both building regulations and a fire risk assessment basis. All electrical equipment is tested according to the recommended frequency. Any electrical equipment is only used by competent persons.,.
Loud music will be prohibited in the early and late hours of the day. Students, staff and the public will be asked to leave the premises in a quiet and orderly fashion. Adequate parking to be provided on site to prevent the use of local roads for parking.,.
The Academys safeguarding rules will apply to all student productions, which will ensure all students are supervised, and student support is available for them.,.
