The age verification scheme operated at the premises shall be Challenge
The premises shall operate in accordance with the "Challenge 25" scheme. This means that whilst alcohol may be sold to persons aged 18 years or over, any person who appears under 25 years of age shall be required to provide proof of age using an acceptable form of ID. The only forms of ID that may be accepted in respect of the sale of alcohol shall be a: a) proof of age card bearing the PASS hologram logo; b) passport; c) UK photo driving licence; or d) other form of ID as agreed in writing by the Licensing Authority
A book, or other form of record, shall be kept in which the date, time and circumstances under which any challenge made in accordance with the "Challenge 25" scheme shall be recorded.
The "Challenge book", or other form of record, a version of which must be kept in English, shall be made available for inspection by any police, community support officer or authorised person upon demand.
Notices advertising that the premises operates a "Challenge 25" scheme shall be displayed in a clear and prominent position at the premises entrance and inside the premises.
All staff whose responsibilities include the retail sale of alcohol shall receive training on induction and every six months thereafter on: a) the prevention of underage sales of alcohol which shall include: i. operation of the "Challenge 25" scheme; ii. types of acceptable ID; iii. method of recording challenges; iv. likely consequence of making an underage sale. b) refusing sales of alcohol to persons who appear to be drunk; c) proxy sales: d) Staff shall be provided with "drug awareness training", and be briefed on the drugs policy applicable to the premises.
Such training shall be recorded a version of which must be kept in English and these records shall, on request, be made available to any police or community support officer or authorised person upon demand.
Where the sale of alcohol is offered on the internet, the order form shall contain prominent statements that: a) Orders are only acceptable from customers over 18 years of age; b) A challenge 25 scheme is operated; and c) Customers who appear under the age of 25 shall be required to produce a valid form of identification before the consignment of alcohol is collected or delivered.
Guided tours will be promoted via the website, shop and through events. When booking, customers will be required to provide the number of people and names of those attending. No more than 15 persons shall attend each tour.
Brewery tour visitors may be provided with samples of beer as part of the tour. Such samples will be limited to 2 pints per person and supplied in either pint or half pint glasses. Visitors to the brewery shop may also sample beer before buying. Such samples will be provided in quantities of a maximum of ¼ of a pint sample ie. half of a half glass.
Where a visitor wishes to purchase a beer for drinking on the premises it shall be supplied in a half pint measure.
Where a delivery recipient appears to be underage then a proof of purchase showing the credit/debit card used to make the purchase will be requested. If this doesn't match then the following form of ID shall be provided: a) proof of age card bearing the PASS hologram logo; b) passport; or c) UK photo driving licence.
Where the recipient of the alcohol turns out to be underage then the alcohol shall be returned to the brewery for pickup or to organise an alternative delivery arrangement.
When the shop is open and deliveries are expected on that day then there shall be 2 staff present. One to manage the shop the other to manage the brewery and office and take charge of the delivery.
Deliveries of alcohol shall only take place between 09:00 hours and 21:00 hours daily and to only pre-arranged addresses.
