The premises shall operate in accordance with the Challenge 25 Scheme. This means that whilst alcohol may be sold to persons aged 18 years or over, any person who appears under 25 years of age shall be required to provide proof of age using an acceptable form of ID. The only forms of ID that may be accepted in respect of the sale of alcohol shall be;- o Proof of age card bearing the PASS hologram logo; o Passport; or o UK photo driving licence. Notices advertising that the premises operate a Challenge 25 scheme shall be displayed in a clear and prominent position at the premises entrance(s)/and inside the premises.
All staff whose responsibilities include the retail sale of alcohol shall receive training on induction and refresher training each calendar year thereafter. This will include: a) the prevention of underage sales of alcohol which shall include: I. operation of the "Challenge 25" scheme; II. types of acceptable ID; III. Likely consequence of making an underage sale. Such training shall be recorded and these records, a version of which must be kept in English, shall on request be made available to any police or community support officer or authorised person upon demand.
The premises shall have internal and external CCTV cameras and the system shall be registered in accordance with the Data Protection Act. The CCTV system serving the premises shall be capable of continuously recording and copies of such recordings shall be kept for a period of not less than 31 days and the original images or a copies shall be provided upon request to any police officer, community support officer or authorised person. The CCTV system shall be maintained in working order and recordings shall be made for each trading period conducted at the premises.
All tills within the store shall have a till prompt system for age restricted products.
