Both Indoors and Outdoors. Dance activities can be accompanied by either recorded or live music played through amplifiers.
Music, Dancing and Entertainment:-
Studio Theatre, Rehersal Room, Meeting Room, Cafe and Area immediately in front of the building. Both Indoors and Outdoors. Facilities can be hired for any artistic activity. However Trestle will not accept a hire if it believes the activity could infringe any of the licensing objectives.
Supply of Alcohol:-
Alcohol will be supplied only at appropriate events. Alcohol sold to be consumed off the premises will be for consumption at organised events in the grounds, not as a 'take away'.
LICENSING OF PUBLIC ENTERTAINMENT
Conditions carried over from the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982:
This Licence is subject to the provisions of the said Act, to the Regulations and Conditions now or from time to time made by the local Council and to any Additional Conditions included on this Licence.
Additional Conditions:
1) The electrical installation shall be inspected at least once in every five years, or such lesser period as is considered appropriate to the individual case, by a competent electrical engineer appointed by or on behalf of the licensee of the premises and a certificate stating the condition of the installation shall after each inspection, be forwarded to the Council by or on behalf of the licensee of the premises.
2) The number of persons (excluding staff and attendants) to be allowed at any one time in the licensed premises shall not exceed: 125

1) The expression "musical entertainment" is defined in the Sunday Entertainment Act 1982 as a "concert or similar entertainment consisting
of the performance of music, with or without singing or recitation."

Additional Steps taken to promote the four licensing objectives:
General:-
Trestle is currently fundraising for a CCTV system. Staff training on licensing issues. To ensure that hirers of the building are informed of and understand their responsibilities to the licensing objectives.
The Prevention of Crime and Disorder:-
Regular Liason with the police. Risk assessments of events. Liasing with hirers of the building. Liasing with neighbouring residents associations. Member of Highland Park Facilities Committee.
Public Safety:-
Trestle Theatre Company has a full Health & Safety Policy. The building complies with statutory Health & Safety and Fire Safety requirements. Risk assessments and management systems are in place to ensure the building is safe for public use. A first aider is available for all public events.
The Prevention of Public Nuisance:-
The sale of alcohol will only be to patrons of the venue, that is ticket holders, hirers, guests and cafe customers. Notices are displayed to remind patrons leaving the building, especially in the evenings, to avoid disturbing neighbouring residents. Staff are trained in awareness of the influence of alcohol and drug misuse and how to react appropriately.
The Protection of Children from Harm:-
Trestle Theatre Company has a full Child Protection Policy. All staff working with children and vulnerable adults are CRB checked. Staff are trained to enforce age restrictions on the sale of alcohol and the participation in age restricted activities. Events that are unsuitable for children will be clearly advertised as such. No young person under the age of 16 will be employed. Trestle Arts Base in a non-smoking building.
