Licence conditions (27)

a) General - all four licensing objectives
1. Recorded Music shall be played indoors only.
2. Strong management controls and effective training shall be in place so that staff are aware of the licensing objectives and in particular will ensure: no underage drinking, drunkenness on the premises, drunkenness in public, use of drugs, violent and anti-social behaviour and protect children from harm.
b) The prevention of crime and disorder
1. There shall be responsible management of the premises to ensure the following: keeping capacity levels, training and supervision of all staff, adopting best practice guide (e.g. adhering to the BBPA, Portman Group on drinks strategy, The National Alcohol Harm Reduction Strategy Tool Kit and other voluntary codes of practise), use of proof of age schemes and/or photo ID driving licences with photographs on music nights, member of the Pub Watch scheme, use of toughened glass and plastic glasses for outdoors, provision of secure deposit boxes for confiscated items, provision of litter bins and other security measures e.g. lighting outside the premises.
c) Public Safety
1. The risk management assessment shall be checked weekly and there shall be effective and responsible management at all times.
2. The general staff provision shall be at a level to secure safety of the premises and customers with adequate training and supervision of those employed,
3. Best practices will be adopted e.g. National Alcohol Harm Reduction Strategy Toolkit and other voluntary codes of practice including the BBPA and Portman Group point of sale promotions.
4. Toughened glass shall be used throughout the premises and plastic glasses used throughout the outside areas.
5. Regular testing shall be undertaken and certification obtain, if appropriate, of all procedures, appliances and systems pertinent to safety.
d) The prevention of public nuisance
1. There shall be responsible management at all times to ensure the following:
i. Training and supervision to prevent incidents of public nuisance.
ii. Regular visits to all parts of the premises including the exterior and whilst deliveries etc. outside opening hours.
iii. Adoption of best practices, e.g. Control of noise from pubs and clubs, NAHRS Toolkit and other voluntary codes of practice including the BBPA and Portman Group point of sale promotions.
iv. Management of people including staff and traffic arriving and leaving the premises.
v. Liaison with public and private transport providers.
vi. External lighting and security lighting are installed.
vii. Collection and management of litter.
viii. Effective ventilation systems to prevent nuisance from odour.
e) The Protection of Children from Harm
1. Sufficient staff shall be provided to secure the protection of children from harm with appropriate training.
2. Best practice guidance shall be adopted (Public Places Charter).
3. Children shall only be on the premises between 11am and 8pm.
4. No children shall be in the bars during entertainment.
5. Proof of age Scheme shall be adopted and photo ID driving licences accepted as proof of age.
