The Carlton will promote all four licensing objectives through strong, proactive management. Crime and disorder will be reduced through trained staff, CCTV Controlled entry and clear incident procedures. Public safety will be ensured with risk assessments safe capacities stewarding maintained equipment and effective evacuation planning. Public nuisance will be minimised through sound control, responsible scheduling, waste management and considerate dispersal of audiences. Children will be protected through safeguarding policies age-appropriate access, supervision, staff training and strict alcohol controls. Together these measures create a safe responsible and community- focused venue for Maryport
The venue will operate robust security measures trained staff, CCTV controlled entry and clear incident procedures to deter crime manage behaviour and maintain a safe orderly environment for all visitors. Licensed door staff will be used for specific events only, as not all events ran at the venue will require door staff
Events will be risk-assessed with trained staff safe capacities-maintained equipment clear evacuation routes and strong crowd-management procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone using the building
Noise levels, dispersal waste and outdoor activity will be carefully managed through scheduling sound control stewarding and community minded operations to minimise disturbance to nearby residents and businesses
Safeguarding policies age-appropriate access staff training supervision and strict controls on alcohol ensure children are protected and supported in a safe welcoming cultural environment
- The Challenge 25 scheme must be operated to ensure that any person who appears to be under the age of 25 shall provide documented proof that he/she is over 18 years of age. Proof of age shall only comprise a passport, photo card driving licence, an EU/EEA national ID card or similar document, an HM Forces warrant card, a card bearing the PASS hologram, or any electronic or biometric age verification technology approved by the licensing authority. - The premises shall display prominent signage indicating at any point of sale and at the entrance to the premises that the Challenge 25 scheme is in operation. All staff authorised to sell alcohol shall be trained in: -Relevant age restrictions in respect of products -Preventing underage sales -Preventing proxy sales -Enter sales correctly on the tills so the prompts show as appropriate ( if relevant) -Training must include evidence that the trainee has gained knowledge and understanding of the training, which may consist of a test or quiz, completed by the trainee. -Documented records of training completed shall be kept for each member of staff. Training shall be regularly refreshed and at no greater than 12 monthly intervals. Training records shall be made available for inspection upon request by a police officer or an authorised officer.
