LICENCE FOR THE PUBLIC PERFORMANCE OF PLAYS
Under the provisions of the Theatres Act 1968 and other powers in this behalf:
Public performance of plays:
Monday to Friday 12.00hrs to 23.00hrs
Saturday 09.00hrs to 18.00hrs
This Licence is subject to the Regulations and Conditions now or from time to time made by the Council and to any Additional Conditions included on this Licence.
ADDITIONAL CONDITIONS
2. The licence holder or anyone involved in the organisation of entertainment (including those controlling the volume of music) shall ensure that any noise emanating from the premises is such as not to cause annoyance or disturbance to residents in the locality.
3. All doors and windows on the (insert façade(s)) of the building, which is the subject of this consent, shall be kept closed at all times during the entertainment events, except when access is required to/from the premises.
4. The inner door leading from the upper floor on to the stairwell of the premise should be kept closed at all times during the entertainment events, except when access is required to/from the premises.
Plays:- Indoors only. The rehersal and performance of plays by students and staff of St. Albans School and visiting companies.
Live Music:- Indoors only. Provision of incidental music to the performance of plays.
Recorded Music:- Indoors only. Provision of incidental music to the performance of plays.
Provision of Facilities for Making Music:- Indoors only. Provision of equipment for playing recorded music incidental to plays.
Additional Streps Taken to Promote the Four Licensing Objectives:
General:-
The premises form part of St. Albans School and are used only under supervision of the staff for rehersal and performance of plays. These are not premises who use is likely to result in crime, disorder or public nuisance. Alcohol will only be sold to persons attending school play performances.
The Prevention of Crime and Disorder:-
The premises when in use will be under the supervision of staff of St. Albans School, and there will be no sale of alcohol to the public.
Public Safety:-
The premises will comply with all current fire and safety requirements. As advised by the Fire Authority, the maximum permissible number of persons that may be present within the area indicated as used for licensable activities at one time must not exceed 120, 60 on the ground floor and 60 on the first floor.
The Prevention of Public Nuisance:
Alcohol is only to be supplied to persons bona fide attending the performance of a play and who have pre-booked.
Strictly no admittance to members of the general public.
No performances shall take place on Sundays or Bank Holidays.
The Protection of Children from Harm:-
The premises form part of a School and are a suitable environment for children. The use of the premises by children will always be under the supervision of staff of St. Albans School or other responsible adults.
