What the licence permits

All containers of alcohol sold shall be marked with an ultra-violet (UV) mark identifying the premises. The UV mark shall consist of the following unique premises reference mark: RY28. The marks shall be applied to all retail packs/units displayed for sale within the premises. The UV marks shall be positioned near to the bar coding.
A refusals book shall be kept at the premises in which must be recorded forthwith the date, time and circumstances under which any attempted purchase by a young customer has been refused. This book must be made available for inspection by any Police Officer, Police Community Support Officer or authorised person.
Signs shall be displayed inside and outside of the premises warning adults that it is an offence to buy alcohol on behalf of anyone under the age of eighteen.
At times when the premises operate under the terms of the licence the CCTV system serving the premises shall: a. be maintained fully operational and in good working order; b. make and retain clear images of the public area of the shop, including the points of sale of alcohol and facial images of the purchasers of alcohol; c. show an accurate date and time that the recordings were made.
All CCTV images shall be retained for a period of not less than 31 days and shall be made available for viewing by any Police Officer, Police Community Support Officer, or authorised person upon demand.
Copies of the CCTV recording shall be kept in a format that can be viewed on readily available equipment without need for specialist software.
No alcohol shall be sold if the CCTV equipment is inoperative for any reason.
No sale of alcohol shall be made at the premises unless the Designated Premises Supervisor or the holder of a personal licence is present on the shop floor of the premises to authorise the sale.
The location of alcoholic beverages to be displayed for purchase on the premises shall be agreed with the Police. The Police have agreed that the alcohol shall be displayed for purchase as indicated on drawing No: 2008-17 dated 21 March 2008 attached as Annex 4 to this licence.
All staff whose responsibilities include the retail sale of alcohol shall receive training on induction and every four months thereafter on: a) the prevention of underage sales of alcohol which shall include: o operation of the "Challenge 25" scheme; o types of acceptable ID; o method of recording challenges; o likely consequence of making an underage sale; b) refusing sales of alcohol to persons who appear to be drunk; c) proxy sales; and d) the operation of the CCTV equipment. Such training shall be recorded, a version of which must be kept in English, and these records shall, on request, be made available to any police or community support officer or authorised person upon demand.
To keep a clear window policy (above 1.5 metres) so that staff have a totally unobstructed view of any activity occurring in the street outside the premises. The only exceptions being the display of notices required by law to be displayed above 1.5 metres, and those required as a condition of this licence to be displayed above 1.5 metres.

The premises shall operate in accordance with the "Challenge 25" scheme. This means that whilst alcohol may be sold to persons aged 18 years or over, any person who appears under 25 years of age shall be required to provide proof of age using an acceptable form of ID.
