Licence conditions (10)
  1. No sale of alcohol shall be made unless a personal licence holder is present in the licensed area of the premises.
  2. No under 18's shall be permitted to operate the till at the point of sale.
  3. The following alcoholic beverages shall be placed behind a staffed counter: a. beers or ciders over 6.5% abv b. All spirits in bottles less than 70cl
  4. The physical location of alcohol displays shall be in an area within sight of staff who are behind the counter as identified on the plan of the premises annexed to the licence.
  5. A CCTV system must serve the premises, be maintained fully operational and in good working order at all times when the premises are open for the sale of alcohol. Notices declaring that CCTV surveillance is in operation must be prominently displayed both inside and outside the premises near the main entrance. The CCTV equipment shall make and retain clear images that include all points of sale of alcohol and of the purchasers of the alcohol. The CCTV recordings shall show an accurate date and time that the recordings were made and all images shall be retained for a period of not less than 31 days. CCTV recordings shall be made available for viewing by any police officer, community support officer or authorised person upon demand. The original, or a copy, shall be provided upon demand to any police officer, community support officer or authorised person. Copies to be provided in a format that can be viewed on readily available equipment without the need for specialist software.
  6. No alcohol shall be sold if the CCTV equipment is inoperative for any reason.
  7. The premises shall operate in accordance with the "Challenge 25" scheme. This scheme operates on the basis that, whilst alcohol may be sold to persons aged 18 years or over, any person who appears under 25 years of age shall be required to provide ID. Notices to this effect shall be displayed in a clear and prominent position at the premises and the only ID accepted in respect of the sale of alcohol shall be a: a. proof of age card bearing the PASS hologram logo; b. passport c. UK photo driving licence; or d. other form of ID as agreed with the Licensing Authority
  8. A refusals book shall be kept at the premises in which shall be recorded forthwith the time, date and circumstances under which any attempted purchase by a child or a customer unable to produce proof of age has been refused. This book shall be made available for inspection by a Police officer, community support officer or an authorised officer of the Licensing Authority.
  9. All staff who do not hold a personal licence shall receive regular training on the prevention of under age sales and all staff shall receive training on the operation of the CCTV system at least twice a year. Such training shall be recorded and these records shall on request be made available to the Police, community support officer or an authorised officer of the Licensing Authority
  10. Alcohol shall be displayed for sale only in the areas identified on the plan attached as Annex 4 to this licence. ( conditions 1 to 6 above were imposed by the Council's Licensing Sub-Committee on 23 September 2009)
