  1. We host a number of Arts Out West plays during the year. These are usually attended by 40-60 people and last for up to 3 hours. The bar would be open during the event to serve those that have paid to enter.
  2. The events that we hold are limited in both number and capacity. There has never been any issue with crime and disorder, and the bar staff would refuse to serve anyone that they felt was too drunk. The main reason that people come to our evenings are to watch the performance rather than to drink. The events are always attended by a number of the committee members as there are always at least two members of bar staff.
  3. We only host small events. We do a safety briefing at the start of the event to point out the emergency exits. We ensure that all fire safety and PAT testing is up to date. Members of the committee are at each event to ensure the safe operation of heating and other equipment.
  4. The events are always finished by midnight, usually earlier. The only direct neighbour is on the committee anyway and is our caretaker. Committee members attending the event are on site until everyone has left, to ensure that there are no issues with noise when people leave. Any bands have usually finished playing by 10.30pn and the bar finishes shortly afterwards.
  5. It is very unusual for children to attend the majority of these events. Where we run an Arts our West play that is aimed at children, we would be unlikely to run a bar. We do have a trained safeguarding lead and a safeguarding policy which we would refer to if we had concerns.
  6. The Challenge 25 scheme must be operated to ensure that any person who appears to be under the age of 25 shall provide documented proof that he/she is over 18 years of age. Proof of age shall only comprise a passport, photo card driving licence, an EU/EEA national ID card or similar document, an HM Forces warrant card, a card bearing the PASS hologram, or any electronic or biometric age verification technology approved by the licensing authority.
  7. The premises shall display prominent signage indicating at any point of sale and at the entrance to the premises that the Challenge 25 scheme is in operation. All staff authorised to sell alcohol shall be trained in:

  9. Preventing underage sales
  10. Preventing proxy sales
  11. Enter sales correctly on the tills so the prompts show as appropriate ( if relevant)
  12. Training must include evidence that the trainee has gained knowledge and understanding of the training, which may consist of a test or quiz, completed by the trainee.
  13. Documented records of training completed shall be kept for each member of staff. Training shall be regularly refreshed and at no greater than 12 monthly intervals. Training records shall be made available for inspection upon request by a police officer or an authorised officer.
