All staff employed at the premises to sell alcohol shall receive training, on induction and not less than twice per year thereafter, in the responsible retail of alcohol. The Licence holder shall consult with the Licensing Authority regarding the nature of the training. Such training shall be recorded and these records shall on request be made available to the Police, community support officer or an authorised officer of the Licensing Authority.
All customers attempting to purchase alcohol who appear to be under the age of 25 shall be required to produce a valid proof of age. Acceptable forms of identification are a proof of age card bearing the PASS hologram logo, photo driving licence, a passport or other form of identification that has previously been agreed in writing by the Licensing Authority.
A challenge book, or similar record, shall be kept at the premises in which must be recorded forthwith the date, time and circumstances under which any attempted purchase of alcohol and other age restricted products by a young customer has been challenged and the outcome of that challenge. This book or other form of record must be made immediately available for inspection by a Police officer, community support officer or an authorised officer of the Licensing Authority upon demand.
The CCTV system serving the premises shall:- (a) be maintained fully operational and in good working order at all times; (b) it shall make and retain clear images that included the points of sale of alcohol and facial images of the purchasers of alcohol; (c) the CCTV recordings shall show an accurate date and time that the recordings were made; (d) all images shall be retained for a period of not less than 31 days; (e) CCTV recordings shall be made available for viewing by an police officer, community support officer or authorised person upon demand; (f) the original, or a copy , shall be provided upon demand to any police officer, community support officer or authorised person upon demand; (g) copies to be provided in a format that can be viewed on readily available equipment without the need for specialist software; and (h) No alcohol shall be sold if the CCTV equipment is inoperative for any reason.
A clear window policy shall be kept at the premises so that staff have an unobstructed view of the area outside of the premises. The exception to this shall be the display of notices required by law and any required as a condition of this licence.
Clear and legible signage shall at all times be prominently displayed on the entrance door to the premises and inside the premises warning customers that (a) a Challenge 25 scheme is in force and (b) it is an offence for adults to purchase alcohol on behalf of children. No sale of alcohol shall be made unless the designated premises supervisor or a personal licence holder is present on the premises.
All members of staff in the premises shall receive training to BII standard or equivalent in responsible sale of alcohol before they are authorised to make sales of alcohol. (CONDITIONS 8 & 9 ABOVE WERE IMPOSED BY THE LICENSING SUB-COMMITTEE ON 18 OCTOBER 2011)
