High quality digital CCTV system with cameras covering all public access areas in the premises, in accordance with Colchester Crime and Disorder strategy to clearly identify and record quality images (close ups) of persons entering or leaving the premises to identify staff and customers at the tills to promote the Crime Prevention Objective to deter underage sales of alcohol, in accordance with Section 17 of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998. The Codec format of digital computers must be available to the Police and the Licensing Authority, in order to download images. (Videotapes/ CD discs to be kept for 31 days). Police Officers investigating serious assaults and other crimes in licensed premises have a duty to seize CCTV digital discs or video tapes to secure evidence. The DPS/Premises Licence Holder must ensure the best available quality CCTV evidence is available for any staff to hand to Police Officers investigating all incidents, including under age sales of alcohol, and in particular serious incidents.
