- The Arts Centre has a mixed group of customers and entertainment is of a varied nature. When entertainment is to attract young people or large numbers additional procedures are followed as set out below. Specific events are risked assessed. The premises are responsibly managed and staff are trained. Noise is monitored at each event both inside and outside the premises. CCTV cameras cover all of the inside of the premises including the toilets.External security cameras are being installed by Bernie Brown Security, jointly funded by Colchester Community Safety Partnership.,.
- Only accept prove it cards, passports or photographic driving licences as proof of age. When an event is likely to attract persons under 18 everyone is asked for ID at the door - those over 18 are stamped and only those with stamps are served at the bar. If it is expected that the majority of customers attending an event will be young persons either a non alcoholic bar is run with all soft drinks served in branded glasses or drinks are limited to one per person.
