- We have strict rules about unsociable behaviour. We do not take bookings for functions for 18th or 21st birthday parties as it cannot be guaranteed that responsible adults will be in attendance. All activities in and around the clubhouse are monitored by responsible staff. The premises supervisor is always on hand as she lives in a house within sight of the clubhouse. There is an intercom line to the house. Health & Safety Officers have visited the premises.,.
- All organisers of functions sign an agreement of resposibility for their guests and are advised that guests are not allowed outside the proximity of the clubhouse. We do not cater for 18th or 21st birthday parties. Signs are clearly posted throughout the premises that disorderly behaviour is not acceptable and we reserve the right to exclude any offender from the premises. We have resposible staff who are trained to deal with awkward situations and there is a panic button behind the bar which effects immediate response from the Police.,.
- We only permit a maximum of 140 persons at any time although 150 were allowed by the Fire Officer when we built an extension in 1991. There are 6 exits from the main club area including 4 pushbar fire exits plus 5 emergency lights. The fire extinguishers are checked annually by L W Safety Ltd. there are 3 large extractor fans, 2 of which have the capacity to act as cooling fans. We have a Health and Safety policy clearly posted for all staff.,.
- By nature of the facility of the clubhouse 99.9% of our customers arrive and leave by vehicle down our own private road. The nearest domestic dwelling is approximately 190 metres away. The clubhouse ceilings are low and we always insist that music is not amplified too much. Any disco or live music is always situated indoors. We have run the club for 22 years and hav enever received a complaint about noise from our neighbours. We will continue with our strict policies on behaviour and nuisance to neighbours.,.
- Children under 14 are only allowed on the premises when accompanied by an adult. There is an area in the clubhouse away from the bar which is delegated as non-smoking. We have regulatory notices about serving alcohol, tobacco and playing on the gaming machine. The experienced staff are fully aware of the laws and are trained to apply those laws.,.
- There shall be no off sales at the premises.The running of the premises shall conform to the Birch Grove Golf Club Rules.,.
